Warwick’s Chef School – Professional Chef Training for the Hospitality Industry, based in Hermanus, Overberg, Western Cape

Warwick’s Chef School is situated in Hermanus and has been training professional chefs for the hospitality industry since 1991.  As one of the longest running chef training schools in South Africa, with over 30 years of training excellence, we understand that graduates should have practised skills and a sound understanding of the culinary principles to ensure employment and successful careers.

We believe in the ‘hands-on’ approach, and embracing future food trends while making our students confident and competent in the fundamentals of the classical culinary principles.

Warwick’s Chef School offers the following courses:

  • One Year Full Time Internationally Accredited Professional Chef Diploma
  • 9-Months Part Time Internationally Accredited Certificate in Hospitality & Catering Principles
  • Internationally Accredited Short Food Safety in Catering Certificate

A Professional Start to a Creative Future

Warwick’s Chef School is an internationally approved centre to offer the UK Highfield International qualifications. These international programmes are not on the South African National Qualification Framework, but sits on the UK Qualifications Framework (RQF) and are regulated by Ofqual (England) and Qualifications Wales.

The school is also a training provider for the South African Chef’s Association and a member of the South African Culinary & Hospitality Educators Forum.

Principal Kevin Warwick is a member of the Academy of Chefs, an honour society of the South African Chefs Association, recognising the achievements & dedication towards training in the hospitality sector in South Africa.

The school is proud to have many graduates working in some of the finest establishments in the country, as well as many who have succeeded in this industry abroad.
